The Met started life as The Metropole Hotel, built in the 1870's it's prominent position on the cliff to means it can be seen in the distance as you approach Whitby.

The Met function room will take your breath away, with it's high glass domed ceiling and decorated to suit. It was the hotel's original ballroom and is available for Weddings, Birthday's, Conferences, Christmas Parties, and any special occasion.

While offering many modern comforts, the lounge bar of The Met has retained some of it's original features and characteristics. The panoramic views over the sea can be enjoyed from our cosy warm atmosphere of the lounge bar or watch the world go by from the flower decked patio area.

We are situated on the West Cliff with a large car park and coach parking nearby, close to all amenities and just a 10 minute stroll along the cliff top and by the harbour side to the town centre.
